De Nederlandse minister van justiti

De Nederlandse minister van justitie zal een paar wetswijzigingen voorstellen. Hij wil de criminaliteit tegen gaan en de drugshandel bestrijden. Vaak wordt door de drugshandel een groot vermogen verworven. Dit vermogen wil hij in beslag laten nemen.
Dit is afgeleid uit een toespraak van de minister op VN-conferentie over drugsmisbruik en drugshandel.
Tot nu toe stelt de Nederlandse wetgeving aan de overheid zeer strikte eisen voor het leveren van bewijs. Pas daarna,kan de overheid overgaan tot inbeslagneming van de taak gigantische vermogens.
De nieuwe wetgeving op dit gebied is in de VS, Groot-Britanie on Italie al tot stand gekomen.
Volgens de minister vormt het drugs¬probleem in de eerste plaats een probleem van gezondheid en sociaal welzijn. Maar door andere deelnemers aan deze negendaagse conferentie wordt het drugsprobleem in de eerste plaats als can crimi-naliteitsvraagstuk gezien.
Volgens de Amerikaanse minister van Justitie moet eon verscherpte Internationale coordinatie tussen douane-diensten tot stand komen.
