Toen op 15 Oktober 1947 de Nedelanders een eerste fase van heropbouw van het net introduceerden, werd de doorgaande verbinding Meester-Benedenstad hersteld door lijn 1 tijdelijk via Sawah Besar te leggen, terwijl ter weerszijden van genoemde kruising twee pendellijntjes de dienst onderhielden op de door lijn 1 verlaten trajecten. De lijen 1,2 en 4 werden toen weer doorgetrokken naar de Amsterdamse Poort, ook lijn 5 werd iets verlengd en lijn 6 naar de Chinese wijk keerde eveneens terug. Het pendellijntje Kruising Noordwijk-Harmonie werd al 5 dagen later als onnodig opgeheven. Het tweeklassensystem werd voorts heringevoerd.
